Mary was the daughter of Abraham McCLELLAN and Elizabeth Morgert. She was born in 1828.

Mrs. Mary James, an aged, and highly respected resident of Bedford, died at her home of her brother George W. McClellan, on West Pitt Street, on Monday, April 8, of cancer of the stomach, aged 78 years, six months, 21 days.
She was the daughter of Abram and Elizabeth Morgart McClellan and was born September 17, 1828. She was the second wife of John James, father of our townsman, Henry C. James. Her husband died in Colerain township in 1894.
Mrs. James was a member of the Lutheran church of this place since she came here about five years ago she was a good, Christian women, a kind neighbor and one always ready to lend a helping hand. She was a communicant at the Lutheran church on Easter Sunday, and a regular attendant at the services. Funeral services were held in Yeager memorial church, Rainsburg, Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. M. L. Culler, and interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
