Biography

John was born in 1726. He died in 1810 at the age of 83 - 84.

John served during the Revolutionary War as a 3rd Corporal with the U.S. Army.He is one of 24 named Revolutionary War Veterans buried at Oak Spring Cemetery in Canonsburg, Washington, Pennsylvania. Research Notes

John McCall descended from Robert Bruce, King of Scotland, through the marriage of George McCall with Lady Dundas, a granddaughter. He migrated from near Glasgow, Scotland to County Armagh, Ireland, prior to 1777. He had married a Miss. Hamilton, whose brother emigrated to the West Indies, where was born. Alexander Hamilton, who subsequently became prominent in the affairs of the U. S. Government, serving in President Washington's cabinet as Secretary of the Treasury.
