Biography

Lucy May Kingston continued to live in Kingston House, Kingston Park, South Australia[1], after her husbands death. Historian Arvril Holt gathered information about Lucy May. "She was a beautiful woman, but she had a hell of a life with Charles, who liked his women. After he died, she was virtually a recluse, attacking anyone who wandered into her property or the beach." Lucy May had the beach fenced off, which she claimed was part of the Kingston Estate, and chased away intruders with an axe or else threw stones at them.[2] Lucy May died in her bedroom at Kingston House in 1919, and the house is said to be haunted by her ghost.
