Patrick was born in 1859. He was the son of Daniel Felix McCarthy.
Patrick McCarthy was born in Ireland.

In New Zealand he married Ellen Theresa O'Brien in 1898.
He passed away in 1931. He was 72 years old. His remains were interred in Waikaraka Cemetery in Onehunga.
