Joseph Maurice William McCarthy was born on November 14, 1895 in Sandwich South Township, Essex, Ontario, Canada, son of Joseph McCarthy (1863–1925) and Elizabeth Ann Delisle (1868– ).[1]

In 1901, Joseph (5) Mccarthy was in the household of Usa Mccarthy in Essex (north/nord), Ontario. [2]

Joseph (26) married Evelyn Dumouchelle (25) (born in 1896 in Windsor, Essex) on June 19, 1922 in Windsor, Essex.[3]

Joseph died on November 18, 1958 in Windsor, Essex, aged 63. He was buried in Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Windsor, Ontario.

Obituary

Joseph McCarthy, 63, died. Tuesday at his home on Cabana Road, Roseland, after an illness of eight months. Born in Maidstone, Mr. Mc¬Carthy was a resident of Roseland for 32 years, 22 of which he spent as a mail carrier. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and the Holy Name Society and a former Treasurer of Sandwich South. He is survived by his widow, Evelyn; four sons, Edward, McGregor; Patrick, Windsor; Warren, Windsor; Doran, Windsor; and four daughters. Mrs. Clifford Maguire (Helen), Belle River; Mrs. Joseph McKrow (Doris), Windsor; Mrs. Hugh Allen( Ann). Vancouver; and Margaret, Roseland; three brothers, John, Windsor; Domenic, of Bryan, Ohio; Anthony, Ajax; and four sisters, Mrs. Stanley Stevens, Mrs. Walter Anderson, and Mrs. Kaye Lyon, all of Windsor; and Mrs. Morris Doran. Ionia, Michigan. Services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m., from the Marcotte Funeral Home, 870 Wyandotte St. E., to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, at 10 a.m. Burial will - be at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Published November 21, 1958.
