Samuel was born in 1836. He was the son of Joseph McCartney and Mary McKee. He passed away in 1889. Joseph McCartney Birth: 22 Dec 1802 Ross County, Ohio, USA Death: 11 Jun 1888 (aged 85) Burial: Bear Grove Cemetery, Guthrie Center, Guthrie County, Iowa, USA Memorial #: 18989103 Bio: Joseph was married twice, first to Mary McKee Oct 8, 1835 in Ross co Ohio. She is the mother of all of his children: Samuel 1836, George Sep 1841, Mary J 1843, James R Apr 25, 1844 , Albert Sept 5,1845, and Francis Marion Oct 8, 1847. He married second Julia Painter Jan 23 1850 in Ross Co, Ohio. They did not have children. The parents of Joseph, are James and Mary "Mollie" Jamison/Jamieson McCartney.
