Joshua was born in 1838. He was the son of Silas McCarty and Sarah Annable.
He was married twice;
- 1st. 1867 Sarah Ann Taylor, w/chn.
- 2nd. 1875 Cynthia Battin, w/chn.
He passed away in 1901.
