Arminta Belle Mickey Mitcham

Arminta Belle Mickey Mitcham, age 88, passed away at the home of her daughter in Pinole, Calif., Monday morning, May 10, 2010, where she had been fighting her battle with cancer.
Mickey was born in Pond Creek, Okla., on Oct. 13, 1921. She served in the United States Army during World War II, where she served as a clerk-typist stationed in Guam. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and a more recent member of Northside Baptist Church. She moved to California in December 2009 to live with her daughter and was searching for a Baptist Church when she became ill.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hulin of Pinole, Calif.; granddaughter and husband, Erika and Kelly Paiz of Albany, Calif., great-granddaughter, Zia Paiz, and great-grandson, Kyle Paiz, of Albany, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earl Tommy Mitcham; her son, Thomas Earl Skip Mitcham Jr.; her sister, Patsy; and her parents, Alva T. and Harriet McCary.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Corley Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. B.F. Risinger Jr. officiating.Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Bill Milligan, Kylan Williams, Greg Milligan, Billy Tinsley, Brad Haynie and Cliff Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard McGeorge and Bob Henderson.

Entered the WAC arch 3, 1944, training at Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., Served at Camp Chaffee, Ark., New Guinea, and South Pacific. Served as a Clerk Typist in personnel Dept. of medical detachment. Was familiar with Army classification system and general military regulations. Received Asiatic-Pacific Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Honorably discharged August 16, 1945.
