John Frank McCauley was born about 30 Jan 1834 in Cynthiana, Harrison, Kentucky, United States, son of Thomas Joseph McCauley and Charlotte Jane (Myers) McCauley.

John married Ellen Jane Florance on 20 Sep 1867 in Harrison. Their children were:

  1. Emily Jane (McCauley) Ross
  2. Elizabeth A (McCauley) Waiki
  3. Joseph Henry McCauley
  4. John Thomas McCauley
  5. Visa Ellen McCauley
  6. Loreza Homer McCauley.

John died on 16 Jun 1919 in Cynthiana aged 85.[1]
