Biography
Richard McCleary was born in 1861, his father, John, was 40 and his mother, Eliza, was 39. He married Henrietta Whiting on 9 July 1892 in Wellington. They had three children during their marriage. He died on 1 November 1919 in Karori, Wellington, at the age of 58, and was buried in Wellington.
