John was the youngest of the three brothers.
He lived in Ottumwa, Iowa.
He married Provie in Henry County, Iowa, in 1902. They traveled quite a lot in the years they were married, working at meat packing plants.
At some point, John and Provie divorced. (Provie went on to marry a man named Roy Richmond from Lovila, Iowa, in 1934. She lived to be 91.)
John died in Orange County, California, and is buried in the Melrose Abbey Memorial Park.
Marcus McClellan, son of John's brother Frank, had some contact with John's granddaughter Valerie. Marcus wrote in a letter to his brother Wayne and sister-in-law Joyce in 2001, "Our mother always thought she was better than John and Provie and never invited them to see us. The reason was that Provie was a Huddleson who lived in Central Addition and Mom thought they were a pack of trash. ... Valerie would be a second cousin to us. She has been to our house and is really a high-class lady."
[This information comes from the letter from Valerie (Johnson) Murphy sent by Marcus McClellan to Wayne McClellan. Valerie obtained death certificates for John and his mother.]
