Biography

Margaret Jane "Jennie" McClellan was born on April 15, 1878, in Ft. Payne, DeKalb, Alabama. Her father was C. O. McClellan; her mother's maiden name was McCurdy. Both her parents were born in Alabama.

The 1880 U.S. Census for Township 7 Range 9, DeKalb, Alabama, find the following family: Charles P. McClelan, age 32, born in TN; Martha M. McClelan, wife, age 33, born in AL; Rosa E. McClelan, age 8, born in AL; Lodema P. McClelan, age 6, born in AL; Margaret J. McClelan, age 3, born in AL; Rosella McClelan, an infant, born in AL.

Jennie married Charles M. Seaman in 1906.

The 1910 U.S. Census for Montier, Shannon, Missouri, finds Charles Seaman in the household of his mother-in-law. The records is as follows: Martha McClellan, head, age 64, born in AL; Della Mcclellan, daughter, age 29, born in AL; Chas. M. Seyman, son-in-law, age 32, born in MO; Jennie Seyman, daughter, age 32, born in AL.

Jennie McClellan Seaman died on May 30, 1932, at the age of 54. She is buried in Montier Cemetery in Montier, Shannon, Missouri, with her husband.
