Biography

John "Emory" McClintock was born 19 September 1840 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania[1][2] to John McClintock and Caroline Augusta Wakeman.[3]

Emory married Zoe Elizabeth Anna Darlington, daughter of Ivan ("John") Darlington and Elizabeth Turley of Netherwood, Ilkley, Yorkshire, England, at Addingham Church in Ilkley on 22 January 1868.[4][5][6][7][8]

1870 w/Zoe in Jersey City.[9]

1880 w/Zoe, son John, half-sister Annie McClintock in Milwaukee.[10]

Emory married, second, Isabella Bishop,[11]daughter of James Bishop and his second wife Mary Faugeres Ellis[12][13] on 8 Jan 1889 in Trenton, New Jersey.

1910 w/Isabella in 19th Ward, Manhattan[14]

Emory died 10 Jul 1916 at his home in Bay Head, New Jersey and buried in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.[1]

Notes

Although biographies indicate that John's first wife Zoe had died before his second marriage, she was living with their son John in 1930 in New Orleans, and so we may conclude they had, rather, been been divorced in the 1880s.[17]
