Francis was born about 1833. He is the son of James McClintock. He served in the Civil War.
"A Civil War veteran, he was drafted and mustered into federal service at Carlisle November 18, 1864, as a private with Co. C, 93rd Pennsylvania Infantry. Wounded at the battle of Fort Stedman March 25, 1865, he was discharged by surgeon's certificate May 30, 1865."[1]
