Biography
Burley Otto McClung, 52, of Parkersburg, died Monday Sept 10, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
Born May 1, 1910, near Palestine, he was a son of the late L.L. and Annetta McClung. He was employed as a leadburner by the American Viscose Corporation for 25 years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruby Barnes McClung, a daughter, Delores Jean McClung, at home; five sons, Kester and Kenneth McClung, Parkersburg; Johnnie McClung, at home, Pfc. Kelsey McClung and Pfc. Edwin McClung, serving in the U.S. Army; five grandchildren.
Eight sisters, Mrs. Nellie Buckhannon, Rockport, Mrs. Alzora Strothers, Belpre, O., Mrs. Verna Ewing, Miami, Fla., Mrs. Dela Holbert, Clear Springs, Fla., Mrs. Myrtle Robey, Walker, Mrs. Dorothy Long, Mrs. Opal Mace and Mrs. Mamie Ross, Parkersburg; two brothers, Ernest McClung, Davisville, and Jesse McClung, New England.
Mr. McClung was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Two Runs Baptist Church with the Rev. K.T. Board of Palestine and Capt. G.C. Watson of the Salvation Army, Parkersburg, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
