DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:

McClure-1247 and McClure-4336 appear to represent the same person because: Same everything, and person. The Scots-Irish McClure family that can be found with the other Virginian and North Carolina Scots-Irish families, such as the Campbells, Blacks, and Steeles, who came over along with the Borden Grant and the northern neck of such. This clan was extensive and as perhaps a reflection of such, many living descendants creating duplicate profiles.

McClure-1247 and McClure-4336 are not ready to be merged because: We need to sort out John McLuer-74 and John Mclure-1157 first or we will have a mess. We also have to sort their mother Frances Ludlowe-21. I see that Liane Smith-93713 is working on this family as well.

Given that James name his son in law Given as executor of his will it is probably likely that daughter Jean married William Givens. She’s also called Jennett.

That begs the question then, who is the Jane McClure who married Archibald Alexander. Turns out she’s named Jane and is also a daughter of James and Agnes.

Both of their husbands died about the same time. The Alexander wedding took place in 1757 when Jane McClure was 23.

Jane Alexander died in 1780 in Rockbridge. Jane Givens died in 1798 in Mecklenburg.

To complicate this, William Givens is frequently shown as marrying Nancy Bratton in 1756. Bratton-21. Of this I’m unsure but I’m certain that Jean and Jane are sisters not name variations.

I don’t think we should merge these until we sort out the children.
