When Norval Jacob "Norvie" McClure was born on May 30, 1892, in Marion, Kansas, his father, Richard, was 40 and his mother, Jennie, was 34. He had four sons and two daughters with Evelyn Harriet Eberle between 1921 and 1932. He died on May 11, 1982, in Emporia, Kansas, at the age of 89, and was buried in Peabody, Kansas.
