NATTIE MCCLURE DIES SUDDENLY[1]

The news of the sudden death of Mr. Natty B. MCClure last night at 11:30 o'clock was a great shock to all our people here this morning. Mr. McClure was visiting in Bokchito and passed away suddenly in his chair of a hear attack. HIs children live in California and other parts of the United States and funeral arrangmeents have not been made. Mr. McClure had lived here all of his life and made friends of everyone.

Napoleon B. Mcclure is gone. Today we mourn his dath, in the evening we rejoice in the assurance of the heritage of eternal hope. The deceased was born March 22, 1876; died November 14, 1946 at Bokchito, Oklahoma. He was the youngest son and the last member of the immediate family of Isaac and Laura Ashford McClure. His father was a distinguished member of the Choctaw Tribe of Indians; a Confederate soldier in the Civil War and fought in the battle of the Pea Ridge. Natty attended Tribal neighborhood schools and Spencer Academy, graduating from the Academy at an early age. Following his graduation he married Miss MaDell Stark, daughter of Dr. T.H., and Blanch M. Stark. The issues surviving this union includes three boys living Horace C.; N.B. , Jr., and Hubert M. McClure; three girls living: Anna McClure Pate, Blanche McClure Mazzoni, and Francis McClure Lively, including six grandchildren. Natty was converted in 1896 and joined the Presbyterian Chuch at old Bennington. His former wife having preceded him in death, the deceased again assumed the responsibility of a married life by leading Mrs. Minnie York(fomerly Impson) to the marriage alter. The Impson family is a prominent member of the Choctaw Tribe of Indians. Mrs. Minnie McClure is a sister of our fellow townsman, D.D. Impson, and survive the deceased. Funeral services were conducted by Dr. R.M. Firebaugh of Hugo, Rev. Nelson Wolfe of Fillmore, Rev. Oscar Gardner of Goodland and others. Burial under the directiction of Gus Pool Funeral hOme in the Old Church Cemetery.
