Biography

William was born in 1840. He was the son of Charles McClure and Sarah Webster.

In 1850 William was 12 and living with his parents, Charles and Sarah, and five siblings in Ohio. [1]

In 1860 he was living with his parents and siblings in Illinois. [2]

In 1870 William and someone named Eliza McClure were living in Ohio. [3]

He registered to vote in California in 1871. [4]

He married Margaret Elsada Alldredge 27 Jan 1872 in Jefferson County, Illinois. [5]

In 1880 he was living with his wife and four children (Delilah, George, Sallie and William) in Illinois. [6]

In 1900 William was a widow and living in Illinois. Two adult children are living with him: Edgar and Lucy. [7]

In 1920 he was living with his married daughter Lucy in Illinois. [8]

He passed away in 1920. [9]

William was buried in Richardson Hill Cemetery, Dahlgren, Hamilton County, Illinois. [10]

William and Elzada were listed on their son William E McClure's death record in 1950. [11]
