Mary, the first-born child of John McClure and Margaret Morrison, was born November 8, 1780 in York County, Pennsylvania. She married John Caldwell on December 24, 1807 in Ross County, Ohio. They were the parents of six sons. John died of cholera on July 27, 1832, at the age of 52 and is buried at Rocky Springs Church at the edge of Highland County. Twenty-four years later, Mary passed away on February 6, 1856, at age 76, and is buried in Rochester Cemetery in Andrews County, Missouri, where she was living with her son, John Caldwell, Jr.
