Biography

William was born on 21 Dec, 1849. He was one of 10 children of Benjamin McClure and Sarah Denning.^[1][2][3]

William married Margaret Jane Larimer October 19, 1876, in Elkhart County, Indiana.^[4][5] They lived in Millersburg, Elkhart County, Indiana, where William worked on the railway.^[6]

He passed away on 7 Oct 1887, reportedly after six weeks of typhoid fever (obit in Wabash Plain Dealer). He was buried at Falls Cemetery, Wabash, Wabash County, Indiana.^[7] Survivors were his widow, Margaret, and four children under the age of ten (Lola, Brice, Lucille, Hugh). Margaret never remarried, working as a dressmaker for a while. Her death in May of 1913 was due to diabetes, with "la grippe" a contributing factor.
