Biography

NORRIS. -- On Saturday, Oct. 18th, 1873, near Hollingsworth's Spoke Factory, Harford Co., Md., Mrs. SOPHIA E. NORRIS. aged seventy-seven years. The subject of this notice was for more than forty years a consistent member of the Methodist Church. For several years she was connected with the M. E. Church, but the latter part of her life she was connected with the Protestant branch of that Church. Mrs. N. was a good neighbor, as all can testify who knew her. Her word and her promise were just as good as her bond, in whatever she obligated herself to do. She died full of faith of a "home above." Oh! what a glorious thought to contemplate her condition is being one of endless bliss! Her daughter, who has for so many years cared for her, when sick, spent many a sleepless night nursing her; but that daughter can see her mother again beyond the river. Indeed, it is our prayer that the entire family may meet in the glorious home of God's saints. The funeral services of Mrs. Norris were conducted by Dr. F. M. Hawkins, whose subject was appropriate to the occasion. HUMILITY.
