George was born in 1858 in Alabama. He was the son of Lafayette McCool and Ellender Gray, both of whom passed away prior to 1870. He resided with his grandparents in 1870. He passed away in 1934 in Mississippi.
His son Henry was counted for school eligibility in Attala, Mississippi in 1885.
