Biography

This family is believed to be part of the McCool Name Study - Toberhead Line.

Samuel was born in 1893, reportedly on 26 Jul 1893 in Casteldawson, County Londonderry, Ireland (now Northern Ireland).

In the 1901 census Samuel (age 7), Scholar, was the son of John Mc Cool in Castledawson, Castledawson, Londonderry, Ireland.^[1]

In the 1911 census Samuel (age 18), Labourer, was the single son of John McCool in Londonderry, Ireland.^[2]

Samuel married Jessie Wyatt in 1924 in New Zealand.^[3]

Samuel was registered to vote in 1957 in Heretaunga, Wellington, New Zealand.^[4]

Samuel died on 1 Feb 1962 and was buried on 5 Feb 1962 in Taita Lawn Cemetery, Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand.^[5]

Samuel is believed to be the son of John McCoole, born 3 May 1863 in Toberhead, County Londonderry, Ireland; died 5 May 1938 in Tamnadase. His mother was probably Mary Ann Anderson, born c1858; died 6 Nov 1937 in Magherafelt, County Londonderry, Ireland.
