Good afternoon, Patricia,

Thank you for your message regarding the proposed merge of the two Janet McCormick profiles (McCormick-7344 and McCormick-7111).

I came across them while browsing the list of McCormick profiles and thought it worthwhile to propose the merge as they seemed so similar, as a "heads up" to you and the other profile manager (you'd be surprised how many possibilities get overlooked in the mass of data available!), but unfortunately I have no more information to add.

Perhaps contacting the other profile's manager might prove fruitful? In the meantime, if you are reasonably sure that the two profiles represent the same person, you might consider setting the proposal to "Unmerged Match" and adding a Research Note to the profile to the effect of "Research ongoing into (profile 1) and (profile 2) - awaiting sources." That would be helpful for anyone else making the same connection and wondering why the merge was on hold.

Kind regards.

Hi again Patricia,

I am happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level. Have fun

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.

Janet ~ Wikitree Greeter

P.S. If you click the green tags on your profile to see who is following the tag. Note MCCORMACK_MICK might not work as the search engine works on tags just using surnames.

Hi Patricia,

Your welcome. I noticed the message you left on Peters page, if you want to communicate with cousins or others about genealogy (whether or not you want to add profiles on our single family tree), you can upgrade at no cost to the Family Member level at any time by adding your genealogy communication preferences.

Help:Membership.

To do this, click on the upgrade link on either your navigation or profile page.

I am sure Sue will be in touch. If you upgarded (it is Free) you can create profiles yourself for all those missing children.

I look forward to seeing your tree grow and connect to Peter's profile

All the best Janet
