Biography

Margaretta was born in 1931, on Prince Edward Island. In 1858, she married John Gahan, a Merchant and a widower. John died in 1885; in his will he left everything to his wife Margaretta Gahan. ^[1]

Miss MacCormack of the Sacramento Pub- lic Schools, who has been on a brief visit to her relatives in this city, has left. for home. She will be accompanied as far as Boston by her sister, Mrs. John Gahan...^[2] Margaretta's son Edward married Agnes Harrington, also from PEI in Massachusetts in 1887. Agnes died in 1890, and in 1891, Edward was back on the Island with his mother. ^[3]

Margaretta was in California in 1910.

She passed away in 1915.
