Biography

Dysart Dent McCormick, son of Andrew and Lucy (Dysart) McCormick, was born January 1, 1912 in Tipton, Cedar Co., Iowa. He was a 1930 graduate of Tipton High School. After attending one year of study in the Junior College in Tipton, he enrolled in Wentworth Military Academy at Lexington, Missouri. He had attended there for one year when he came experienced a severe attack of appendicitis. Dysart returned home to Tipton and was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he died April 16, 1932 following an operation for his illness. He was 20 years, 3 months and 15 days of age. Dysart Dent McCormick was buried in Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Cedar Co., Iowa.[1]
