Biography

Anne (McCormick) McShane was born in Ireland.

Anne was born about 1846. Anne McCormack married James McShane 12 October 1864 in the Stonebridge Church, Kilmore, Ireland.

Anne (McCormick) McShane migrated from Ireland to New Zealand.

James McShane and his wife Annie emigrated to New Zealand as part of the Waikato Immigration Scheme, Departing Queenstown, Ireland 4 Nov 1864 on the sailing boat the SS "Ganges". They arrived in Auckland, New Zealand 14 Feb 1865. The Ganges became known as the death ship as, of the 474 passengers onboard, 54 children and 2 adults died during the voyage mostly from bronchitis and whooping cough.

Anne (McCormick) McShane lived in Pukekohe, Auckland, New Zealand.

She passed away in 19 Feb 1916. She is buried at the CEM Catholic Pukekohe Cemetery.
