Biography

William was born in Arkansas in 1845, the son of William Jordan McCormick and Margaret^[1][2]. His family moved about from Arkansas to Kentucky to Alabama before settling in California's Napa Valley in 1861^[2]. There he married pioneer daughter Jennie York in 1870^[2], and raised eight children with her^[3] before passing away in 1923^[4][2].
