John William McCormick was born on October 14, 1875[1][2], in St. Helena, Napa, California, to William Newton McCormick and Nancy Jane (York) McCormick[3]. He married Ida (Gilbert) Sinclair in 1913[4][5][6], but then was widowed and living with his sister's family by 1930[7]. He died on March 15, 1936, in Napa, California, and was buried in the family plot in St. Helena.[8]
