1850 census of Cumberland Co shows him living alone in a residence next to his wife and family and being a laborer.
1860 Census says Real Estate worth $400 and Person wealth $150.On November 24, 1869 Purchased from Daniel Tew 62 acres.
1870 census show him living with family , able to read and write, Mary and Angus were living with him and were both deaf and dumb. Sarah, Robert, James and William were in the household also. John was Living in the next residence with his wife Harriet and son Malcolm. John and Harriet were deaf and dumb. Another John and his wife Celia lived near-by. He is the nephew of Duncan Daniel, the son of John, Duncan Daniels brother.

Death

Death information is from 1880 deaths in Black River Township. He died from suppression of Urine. He died in May 1880.^[3]
