James Albert McCoy, son of William S. McCoy and Frances “Fannie” (Howell) McCoy, was born on 4 Oct. 1880 in Alabama.[1] (Born Selma, Alabama?) He was a farm laborer when he appeared on the census of 20 June 1900 in the home of his parents at Police Jury Ward 1, De Soto, Louisiana.[2]
He married Nellie Antionette Holmes, daughter of John Oscar Holmes and Emma Josephine (Chaffin) Holmes, about 1908[1]
He was a brick layer when he and Nellie appeared on the census of 5 April 1930 at Logansport, De Soto, Parish, Louisiana.[3]
James died on 8 April 1937 at his home in Logansport, DeSoto County, Louisiana[4] and was buried at Brookland Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas. His memorial has a photo and links to those of family members.[1]
