Fredrick was born about 1918. He passed away about 1974. He was known as Lin to his friends and to my mom but as a young man he was an athlete winning all of the racing events and doing well in the hurdles. His athleticism and his boxing gave him the name Kid McCoy. He was taught boxing by his doctor who brought him back from near death when he had Rheumatic fever as a child. The heart was badly damaged and he was unable to go into the WW2. The heart damage plagued him the rest of his life
