Biography

John L. F. McCoy was born 23[1] May[2] 1829 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania to Joseph McCoy of Scotland.[3][4][5][6]

He first married ? and they had the following known children:

  1. Wellington McCoy was born about 1845 in Pennsylvania.[4]
  2. Lemuel McCoy was born about 1847 in Pennsylvania.[4]
  3. James McCoy was born about 1849 in Pennsylvania.[4]
  4. Mary McCoy was born about 1850 in Pennsylvania.[4]

He then married Mary E. Lytle[5] about 1856[2][5][4] and the couple had the following known children:

  1. Emma A. McCoy was born 23 May 1860 in Aledo, Mercer County,[7] Illinois.[5] Emma died 12 Jan 1932 and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Kansas City, Johnson County, Missouri.[8]
  2. Dora A. McCoy was born 28 Jan 1867 in Illinois, died 16 Mar 1905 and is buried in Lea Cemetery, Johnson County, Missouri.[9][5]
  3. John T. McCoy was born in1869 in Illinois, died in 1899 and is buried in Lea Cemetery, Johnson County, Missouri.[10][5]

John died 23 Sep 1913 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri[3] and is buried in Lea Cemetery, Johnson County, Missouri.[1]
