John Anderson McCoy I was the son of Samuel McCoy 1833 Kentucky and Irene "Rena" "Recie" Whitt 1839 Kentucky. Samuel and Irene were wed in Pike County, Kentucky May 1861. John was shot and killed in a quarrel over a moonshine still. He was born on Blackberry Fork, Pike County, Kentucky. Died on Aaron's Creek, Ranger, Lincoln County, West Virginia.
