Elijah Kirk McCoy, son of David C. McCoy and Louisiana "Lou" (KirK) McCoy, was born about 30 Aug. 1871 in Sardis, Panola County, Mississippi.[1][2] He appeared on the census of 17 June 1880 in the home of his parents at Johnson County, Texas.[3]
He married Alice Hickman on 9 June 1897 at Ellis County, Texas.[4][2]
He was a farmer when he and Alice appeared on the census of 20 June 1900 at Justice Precinct 2, Johnson County, Texas. His parents were listed next to them.[5]
Elijah died on 22 March 1954 at Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas and was buried at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.[6] His memorial has a photo of his headstone and a link to that of Alice.[2]
