George McCrary was born on April 17, 1862 in Canada.[1] He was the youngest son of irish immigrants Neil and Margaret (Andrews) McCrary.[2][3]
In 1880 he was living with his parents and elder brothers Neil, William and James on their father's farm in Bingham Township, Huron County, Michigan. Also living with them was his brother Neil's wife Mary Jane and two infant children: John and William.[4]
On October 6, 1881, George, 19, passed away from the affects of the Great Thumb Fire of 1881.[2][3] He was one of the many Michiganders who died due to massive blaze. He was buried in Tyre Cemetery.[1]
