Biography

Mary Lavina "Viney" McCrary was born about 1805 in Iredell County, NC, the eldest daughter of David McCrary. No records have been found, by this researcher, which state that she is the daughter of David McCrary, however, Iredell County census records[1] [2] [3] matched to Alabama Estate records place her as one of the 11 children of David McCrary.

She married Reuben Sherrill abt 1833 and had three known daughters.

She passed away in Catawba County, NC in 1879.

McRary, James McRary, Julius McRary, Milus McRary and the heirs and legatees of John McRary deceased who was a legatee of Lee McRary. To wit Samuel McRary, Benjmamin McRary, William R. McRary, James McRary, Julius McRary, Milus McRary & this affiant and Reuben Sherrill in Right of his wife Mary & James H White in right of his wife Margaret - and that these are all the legatees of said Lee McRary except this affiant and that all of said legatees are of the age of twenty one years.

In the name of God Amen I Reuben Sherrill of the County of Catawba and State of North Carolina, being of sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament Item 1 I wish all of my lawful and just debts to be paid 2 I give and bequeath to my wife Mary L. Sherrill the whole of my entire estate real and personal to have and to hold for her benefit during her lifetime and at her death to be equally divided between the heirs of her body. I constitute Elam A Sherrill Executor of this my last will and testament.
