Chapeau, Quebec--St-Alphonse record B17. James Joseph McCREA On this third day day of April one thousand eight hunderd and eighty seven (1887), we the undersigned parish priest have baptized James Joseph born on the eleventh of March and lawful son of John J. McCrea and Bridget Walker of this parish. The sponsors were Patrick Hayes and [looks like Maryset] Hayes who have not signed.

In the 1901 Census James was recorded with his parents John and Bridgette.

The 1920 record of marriage for James Joseph McCrea and Ethel McFarlane was stamped 23 Dec 1920 in Ontario. The certificate number is 025296. The groom was James Joseph McCrea, farmer, bachelor, age 33, born in Chapeau, resident of Haileybury in the district of Temiskaming, Ontario was the son of John J. McCrea and Bridgett Walker. The bride Ethel McFarlane, age 21 resident of Boston [Creek] born in Sydenham was the daughter of William McFarlane and Cathleen Kellar. Witnesses were D.H. Wiltsey and Ellen McCrea of Haileybury.

The Ontario record of death for James J. McCrea (#034510) states he was a resident of Boston Creek, Irish, married, born in Canada, occpation Mine Manager. His parents were John J. McCrea and Bridget Walker of Canada. He was 43 years 4 months and 8 days. His date of birth was 3 - 11 - 1887. His death 20 July 1930 the burial two days later at Kirkland Cemetery. The information was filed on 24 July 1930.
