👶 Anne Jane McCrea was born in 1821, in County Donegal, Ireland, the eldest daughter of William McCrea and Margaret Hamilton.
Ann Jane was "brought in by" Francis Reid, on the Bounty Immigrant ship "Broom", which arrived in New South Wales in early 1842, the year following brother James's arrival in 1841.[1] [2] Ann Jane's sister Catherine was also "brought in" by Francis Reid on the same ship.
Anne Jane's mother, Margaret (a widow), younger brother Henry, and one other sibling listed as "Miss McCrea", also came on the "Broom", but as paying passengers. (This "Miss" McCrea leaves unaccounted for youngest sibling, brother William Alexander, who would have been only ten years of age.)
The two McCrea sisters are also listed as signatories to an "open letter" of thanks to William S. Lawson, Esq., M. D., Surgeon Superintendent of the Ship Broom. [4]
Anne Jane married John Wesley McCutcheon on the 30th November 1842, in the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Sydney, Australia.[5]
Anne Jane McCutcheon née McCrea passed away in 1892, in North Carlton, Melbourne, Victoria.[6][7]
