Biography

Margaret McCue was likely born in December, 1910 (given her age at the time of the 1911 Census), in Darlington, Durham, England, to Thomas and Katie (Kelly) McCue^[1].

The 1911 Census of England recorded Margaret McCue, 5 months, living with her mother Catherine, 40, Married, and siblings Ellen, 12 Thomas, 10, and George, 8, all in School, all members of the household reportedly born in Darlington, Durham, at Darlington, Durham, England. Where Margaret's father was at the time we don't know (he may have preceded the family to Canada)^[2][3].

Margaret MCue, 28, Spinster, Domestic, daughter of Thomas McCue and Katey Kelly, married Angus Pitts (Pitts-2962), 33, Bachelor, Labourer, son of Angus Pitts and Mary Gillis, at St. Joseph's (Catholic) Church in Vancouver, British Columbia, on 3 February, 1940, Rev. Monsignor McKinnon officiating[[1]], Alexander Pitts and Katie McCue acting as witnesses. At the time of their marriage, the Groom was living at 1870 Yew Street, Vancouver, and the Bride at 1323 E. Broadway, Vancouver.

Margaret and Angus Pitts had 3 sons, whose identities are private as they are likely still living.

Margaret was widowed on 5 February, 1986^[4].

Margaret Pitts died on 28 February, 2008, and was buried in Port Coquitlam Municipal Cemetery. Margaret's obituary, published in Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on 4 March, 2008, read: PITTS Margaret passed away on February 28, 2008 at the age of 97. Loving and missing her are her sons Dan, Tom, and Gord; daughters-in-law Marg, Lee, and Sharon; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren^[5] .
