"Boyd Clarence McCue: The second brother: Boyd was a rather typical McCue, he went to school at Deer Park, (Boroughs), then spent 2 years going to High School in Vananda, Mont. on the request of Uncle Jesse. On his way to maturity he seemed to learn to be a good mechanic, I'm quite sure he never attended a school for mechanics. While in Montana he had a chance to try out being a cowboy, returned home and found work in the Spokane area for a few years and in 1933-34 started with a crew prior to the building Grand Coulee Dam with a company doing core-drilling checking the bedrock foundation before actual construction began. He worked around the area and got into the maintenance and repair shops, he could do anything with steel or iron, including one of the most difficult, that of tempering steel. He produced the decorative pipe work that surrounds the swimming pool at the Dam. I had always hoped that he would put his artistic ability to work on wrought iron decorations for homes and gardens, and other decorative items, that are saleable. However he never did. He went from he shops at the Dam and took over the equipment service shops for the Bureau at Ephrata and Quincy, thru construction of the irrigation canals and laterals, surveys, etc. In the meantime he put a hitch in the Navy in WWII. He was married to Dorothy McDonald of Ephrata, a well known family there, at Davenport in 1935. Dorothy worked a good part of her life, mostly office work, she was with the County Auditor in Grant County, and she took on a partnership in a Radio Station in Ephrata and later had her own Station in Yakima, KQOT. Boyd worked a bit in Yakima for the County Road Dept. He died in Yakima in 1976. He and Dorothy had one son, Danny born while they were located at Coulee Dam. He went to High School in Ephrata and graduated there. While he was in High School he went with Ronald and Joe Turcotte on a trip to Salt Lake City, Brice {Bryce}, Zion and Grand Canyon North Rim, on one of my trips to the Utah area. Danny married his first wife at Ephrata, Katherine Wagner and they had three boys, Kevin (now married), in Greece, Curtis, now in College, and Kenneth in high school. Danny was divorced and later married Linda Brown, they live in Santa Barbara in a beautiful Spanish Home. Danny has a hobby of reviving Classic Automobiles and is considered an authority. After Boyd's death Dorothy operated the Station for some time then sold it. She has a comfortable home, likes people, Bowls, fishes and clam digs and does some traveling. Danny graduated from U.P.S. in Tacoma and worked for Sears there prior to being taken by EG & G at Goleta, CA where he is Senior Purchasing Agent. Dorothy did not spent much time being idle but got into the Real Estate Business with a company in Yakima and is busy and happy there." -- Written by Roy C. McCue, 1983 (brother)
