This Mary McCuiston did NOT marry this John Cook. She married John Coots. Please look at the **original** marriage bond that many derivative sources (including the one referenced on this page above) have incorrectly abstracted as John Cook. Look at the original signature of the groom. It is Coots (signed with a crossed t) not Cook.

Her husband John Coots wrote his will in Davidson County, Tennessee, in 1821. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:2:77TV-1S98

Mary (McCuiston) Coots was still living in 1826 when named in the will of her daughter Elizabeth Coots. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:2:77TV-1SD9?i=40

That's great info, Rick. Wikitree is a collaborative project. Your language doesn't feel collaborative to me. When I read your comments, I felt a little bit like you were annoyed or criticizing, but maybe I'm just overly sensitive today, due to a personal situation.

Either way, this profile was originally created 6 years ago and it looks like it hasn't had many updates. It's an open profile and it is not project-protected, nor is it particularly well-sourced. If you feel qualified to improve it, please have at it! That's the whole point of our collaborative project. I don't have the time to look at it today, due to the previously mentioned situation. Our goal is ONE CONNECTED TREE for all persons, free for all to enjoy. Thanks so much for your detective work. There are LOTS of mistakes on Wikitree for fixing. I'm looking forward to our improved accuracy from your contributions.

McCuistion-32 and McCuiston-3 appear to represent the same person because: There is only one daughter, Mary McCuiston. They have the same family, parents and siblings. And Dates.
