Hi ,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Martha, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your ancestors in Ireland and UK. I wanted to let you know we have a great project that focuses on the UK here called United Kingdom Project which links to our Irish Roots Project They would be a great places for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.

Thank you so much for joining WikiTree.

Hi Martha,

Just a quick PS

Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.

if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

Best Wishes, and have fun adding your leaves and branches!

We also have a Mentor Team who will be glad to answer questions and help you with any specific problems.

Welcome and Enjoy!

I have been researching the family history of my grandmother for a number of years. At the beginning of the research the only thing I knew was that they were traveling actors, touring Ireland when she was born. When I began to look into the story there were few online sources so I spent many hours plowing through archives in Glasgow, London and Belfast. More recently, with the help of the British Newspaper Archive, The Stage archive, the UK Census Online, the Irish National Archives and Find my Past etc. I have managed to put together part of their story. This project has been fascinating and has given me insights into the history of popular culture in Britain & Ireland in the late 19th and early 20th century. I am keen to share this knowledge and complete their story.
