James Raymond McCully was born on 3 Feb 1911 in Bangalow, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of William Robert McCully and Ann Bridget Hogan. ^[1]

James (21) married Ena Elizabeth (Von Sturmer) Beeby (20) (born in 1912 in Byron Bay, New South Wales; daughter of Rupert Von Sturmer and Kate (Milnes) Von Sturmer) on 30 Nov 1932 in Byron Bay, New South Wales. ^[2]

Their known daughter was Joan Elizabeth (McCully) Campton (abt. 1934–abt. 2008).
