Biography
Margaret was born in 1841/2 according to her age at death.
She married William John McConnell, a stonemason of Ballyhinney, on 21 April 1865 at the First Presbyterian Church, Newtownards. The witnesses were John Cherry (her brother-in-law) and Eliza McCully (most likely her sister).[1]
Ten years later they had there only known child, William Henry, born at 17 Malcolm Street, Belfast.
Margaret developed cerebral disease in January1887 and was cared for in the Newtownards Workhouse where she died of mental exhaustion and phthisis on19 April 1889. A memorium card gave her age as 47.[2]
