William was born in 1844. He was the son of David McCurdy and Mary Archibald.
At the time of the 1881 Canada Census, David, Mary, Georgina, Arthur, William, Bessie, and Charles McCurdy were listed as living in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, along with one other person[1]. At the time of the census, William's occupation was listed as "Merchant".
He represented Victoria County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1878 to 1886 as a Liberal member.
He passed away in 1923.
