JAMES A. McCURDY, 91, of Blairsville RD, formerly of Plumville, passed away at 8:30 a.m., Thursday in Indiana Hospital, where he had been a patient for two days. Born September 12, 1868, son of Mr. and Mrs. David McCurdy, he had lived in the Plumville area most of his life and was a carpenter and painter by trade. He was preceded in death by his wife Nettie Speedy McCurdy. The following children survive: S. W. McCurdy of Painesville, Ohio; Mrs. Lula Stiles of Blairsville; Pantall McCurdy, Indiana R. D. 3; Clair McCurdy of Blairsville; Frank of Ridgway; Clark of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Mary Alice Dolan of Lewistown. One daughter and one son are deceased. One sister, Mrs. May Wagner of Shelocta; two brothers, Harry McCurdy of Shelocta and Dr. C. L. McCurdy of Creekside R. D., 24 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the Bowser Funeral Home in Plumville from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held there Sunday, February 7, at 2:30 p.m. the Rev. Jack Hazlett officiating. Interment will be in Crooked Creek Baptist Cemetery at Chambersville. [1]
