John McDaniel was a Virginia colonist.

John McDaniel was born in 1720. He married Mary Ely in 1740 in Virginia Colonial America. He died Feb 1813 Chatham County, North Carolina.

CAUTION: YDNA mismatches exist at or older than this individual. R1b and R1a can not both be in the same lineage. Tangled in Error by Martha McDaniel Thompson. Orange County NC where both lines are confirmed to have lived.

Autosomal DNA Match to Linvil McDonald[1]

This is probably the John McDaniel who appears in the early tax list of Orange (later Chatham) County in 1755. There are also numerous land records in Chatham County for a John McDaniel (probably him but could be son John?) from 1793 to 1808.
