Obit 27 APR 2008. Note: LLOYD KENNETH MCDONALD, 82, the son of John and Dena McDonald was born September 27, 1925 in Port LaVaca Texas. On April 15, 2008 Lloyd was reunited with the Lord. He is survived by 3 of his 5 sons, Thomas Allen (De.), Randall Keith (Tx.), Christopher Kenneth (Tx.). His wife, Betty Rowena Welch McDonald preceded him in death along with 2 of their sons Philip Miles (De.) and Stephen Patrick (Tx.). His High School coach (K. Lamar Camp) arranged for him to attend Kilgore Jr. College where he met his wife Rowena ("A Rangerette Forever"). He graduated from University of Houston, earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and later qualified as a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer in the state of Delaware and the state of Texas. Lloyd was a member of IEEE for 50 years. He was had been employed by H.L.&P., Brown & Root Inc. and Diamond Shamrock Corp. Billy Graham and Joel Olsteen were a few of his favorite religious leaders. A favorite poem was "Old Ironsides" by Oliver Wendell Holmes. The greatest thrill of his life was raising his sons and touring the U.S., Canada and Mexico. He hoped to meet and be with all the wonderful people in heaven that he and his wife were associated with in their life. Lloyd will be placed to rest beside his wife in the Veterans Cemetery in Houston, Texas. A Memorial service will be held in the chapel of the Clear Lake Methodist Church on May 17, 2008 at 1 pm.
